I just finished up this book called The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Gosh, I'm crying right now. Amazing, amazing book. I was wondering if anyone else has read it. If you have- your thoughts on the book? I've also heard that there is a movie, does anyone know if it's any good?

hahahahahahhhahaahahahahaha i cried during math class over that book man i'm so sensitive mother of frag that was a good book. my favorite character has to be liesel's parents though, both the mother and the father. the mother because she's my kind of woman. i love those kinds of women omg. and also, max. just max, man.
also, the beginning of the story definitely put me off. i thought it was silly and long and drawn out, but other than that, it was alright. i also didn't like the whole holocaust setting at first. grew on me once i figured out it was in germany, not mofo auschwitz.
apparently, there's a movie in the making. it's been in the making 2010, though, so i doubt there will be a film. if there is, i expect it to be at least half as good as 'let the right one come in'.
'goddamnit mama, you were so beautiful.'

I was bawling in the car while reading. ;-; The parents were great characters! And I loved Max, too! I just wish Rudy didn't have to die. D: I cried so hard during that part, when both of her parents plus Rudy died. So. Sad.
I hope they make a movie, and I hope it's good!

I haven't read the book in a super long time. I think I may have read it in Middle School, not sure if there has been an updated version of it or if I read the same one as you did but thinking back and looking at what you guys posted it seems they are one in the same book.
It was absolutely one of my favorite books and I hope to eventually write and publish something of that nature.

Yes! I adore the authors writing style, just the way their sentences flowed and how they worded things. I would be super happy to get to a point like that one day. I think the book was published in 2006, and as far as I know this is the only version. Gosh, everyone died in the end. Well, everyone but Max. I was glad someone survived! The characters were all so different and unique; I just loved it all! Now, however, I need to find another good book.. I'm going to take up some of your suggestions, Aatiyah!

i'd recommend, but our taste in books differ. i like reading things that are a slice of life. an interesting life, nonetheless. have you read 'life after genius'? i don't think you'd like it. there's a lot of mature situations in that book, along with 'let the right one in'.
