Rick (Richard)? Ovid ? Marlebon
basic info;
Name: Rick Ovid Marlebon.
Gender: M

Upper or Lower: He is from the lower class whom he however avoids like the plague, preferring instead to ally himself to the upper class as a loyal servant to an old family. He shares the views of the upper class.
Birth date: January, 11th.
looks;
Height: slightly below average
Weight: bony
Weapon?: No weapon. If he needs protection, he relies on other people.
Appearance: A build that would otherwise be stocky; broad chested and shouldered, is spoilt by a ascetic and malnourished aspect. He is skinny to the point that he appears fragile. His skin is pale and freckled. He has thick, red hair which he keeps very neat. Eyes are pale and blue, shadowed by a hard brow and a habitual scowl or frown. His face is somewhat twisted an ugly, with deep-set lines along his brow and hollow cheeks. his nose appears to have been broken in the past. His lips are thin and his teeth are rather crooked, giving him a slightly devilish look when he smiles. All this put together creates a strong impression of a gargoyle.
He takes great pride in his appearance, on the job he wears a black suit. He often finds the weather cold despite the actual temperature, and often adds a scarf to his outfit as his duty allows.
acting;
Sexuality: Straight
Occupation?: Servant (if no upper class family is available I can think of something else.)
Personality: Same as appearance, two paragraphs. Tips to make the two paragraphs: how they act normally, what they think of the other class, if they like to fight or not, how they act to family/friends, how they act around enemies.
Rick, or as he prefers, Richard, a more formal name he adopted in an attempt to shroud his dishonourable origins as a thief and beggar, feels a strong sense of fragmentation about his personality. The main word used to describe him would be torn; between compassion and hatred, confidence and shame. Despite being deeply serious, he has a loud laugh and likes to grin and poke fun at the people around him. He often has an expression of suppressed mirth. The fractures in the consistency of his identity make him feel confused and frustrated, resulting in a distinct shadowing of his mood.
Richard is most attracted to power, money, and knowledge. He sometimes wonders if his poor relationships and lonely childhood drove him away from pursuing love and instead pursuing success as a means of fulfilment. He can be deeply unscrupulous, cutting people down and trampling over them to get what he wants, be it revenge, success or simply a person to take his scorn out on. He is also capable of kindness and is fiercely protective and loyal of people he trusts and admires. He tends towards loneliness and isolation.
He loves history and literature, and gave himself the middle name Ovid as a pompous flourish in order to make himself sound more sophisticated. Ovid is one of his favorite poets. His vast reading which he acquired with Gregory has given him much wisdom which he is seldom able to execute in his own life.
He mitigates his self hatred and his hatred of his past and what he has done by redirecting his feelings towards the lower class as a whole. Rick prefers a brand of subversive, passive aggression as well as backstabbing in order to cut his enemies down, and his acrimony knows no bounds.
life;
Parents?: Bill and Jane
Siblings?: Gregory, (deceased) James, and Rosie
Pets?: No though he is fond of dogs.
History: Rick was born the third of four children. The other two eldest, a boy and a girl, six and four years older, had a tendency for taking advantage of him, stealing his things and teasing him. In turn he bullied his younger brother as a means of taking out his anger. His younger brother however, Gregory, looks up to him and a somewhat abusive friendship is formed, with Gregory as Rick's only ally and friend. Gregory is kind, loyal, artistic and intelligent, and earns Rick's respect. THey form a deep, none the less abusive relationship with Rick often using Gregory to take out anger. Further, Rick draws Gregory into pick-pocketing and robbery, Often bidding Gregory to do dirty work, to squeeze through tight spaces. Rick's actions lead to Gregory getting trapped in a backyard of a would be theft-victim, unable to escape from guard dogs. Gregory dies from infected bites, leading his family to shun Rick who, despite pleading for forgiveness is turned away. Gregory's death led to a decomposition in the family who's status dropped from poor to without a source of money as his father lost his job.
During this period of his life he made many enemies in his community as a thief and thug. As his sense of belonging waned further and further, he withdrew more and more, neglecting to eat, losing his muscle, and often ending up in fights until he simply had to leave.
Growing more and more distant from his family, and a community who speaks his name like a curse, Rick moves into the richer areas, in an attempt to find a new life. He hates his identity as much as he hates his past, insisting on being called Richard, and adopting a middle name, Ovid, of his favorite poet, in an effort to legitimise himself to the ruling class. It is his life's duty to keep his past as a secret.
